artisan shoes...sigh

I stumbled across this recent story in the new york times and found it fascinating – it's a spotlight on three artisan shoemakers in venice. there's something so appealing about shoes handmade to order, using only the highest quality leather and materials.

the story focuses on the fact that these artisans create shoes for durability, comfort and fashion – and all three attributes share equal importance.

can you imagine how comfortable and beautiful a pair of custom-made shoes would be?! considering that prices start somewhere around $900, I'm not sure I'll ever know...but, dare to dream!
