zara

zara has some seriously beautiful shoes for surprisingly low prices. this pair, for instance – I'd seen them everywhere on various blogs and instantly assumed they were made by a luxury brand. imagine my surprise when I learned they were zara – and for $50! swoon.

target, how I love thee

I know these look like they'll fall apart after a day of wearing and they probably will, but platform wedge lace-up ankle booties? I cannot say no. I simply can't.

a cheap shot

I'll admit it: I'm cheap. maybe "frugal" is a better word. I refuse to pay either a) full price or b) too much for a pair of shoes – unless we're talking I'd walk down the aisle with them tomorrow. it's amazing what you can find when you set your sights low!

take these fun, summery stilts from yoki via lulu's that I recently purchased – for a humble $33! granted, are they the best-made shoes ever? nope. did I get what I paid for? sure! but sometimes, quantity over quality is a-okay (in my book, anyway). and hey, my day brightens instantly whenever I put them on.

get your neon

(get it? get your ne-on? like get your grub on? never mind.)

so neons are everywhere, from nail polish to denim to strappy summer sandals. aside from recently painting my nails a rather blinding shade of hot pink, I've stayed away from the neon craze. it's a cute look on some, but I don't think I could pull it off. it also reminds me a little too much of the '80s...

tumblr and pinterest: my simultaneous death and salvation

so, along with the rest of the world (although I know I'm a little late to the party), I've become addicted to two lifestyle/design/all-things-pretty social sites: tumblr and pinterest. when I say "addicted," I only mean that I check them each, daily, multiple times a day. and more often than not, I come across some ah-MAZE-ing shoes that I have to have.

and at once, the best and worst part is this: most of the time, I have no idea where said shoes come from! where I might buy them! how much they cost! and it's great!

if I click back through many, many links, I can usually find the source. but how lovely to just put that from my mind because, let's face it, I'd be one broke you-know-what if I was purchasing EVERY pair of shoes that I wanted from here.

so really, it's the best of both worlds: I can look and drool and swoon and die just a little bit each time, then hit command W and be done with it. yay!

take the beauties above, for instance. ohmygah. those delicate buckles? the lace and platforms? gwah-juss. and whatcha wanna bet they cost like $2 bazillion? but they're sure pretty to look at, so please –  stare ad nauseam until command W orders you elsewhere.
